The literary life of EDWARD JAMES, author, reviewer, occasional poet and former pension adviser to the government of Kyrgyzstan
That is the short story which won me first prize in the Cheltenham Writer’s Circle annual writing competition earlier this week. It
is drawn from life, being the tale of how I came to join the European Commission in Brussels. I put the same story in for the Writers and Artists short story competition (run by Bloomsbury Publications, who publish the Writers and Artists Yearbook) and it was short listed and published on their website, where you can find it if you are interested.
