The literary life of EDWARD JAMES, author, reviewer, occasional poet and former pension adviser to the government of Kyrgyzstan
Went to Gloucester docks this week-end to see the ‘Tall Ships‘. Visited the ‘Matthew‘, a replica of the first English ship to cross the Atlantic (John Cabot, 1497). I first saw it 15 years ago in Newfoundland, when it re-enacted the crossing for the 500th anniversary.
The Matthew and John Cabot and his son, Sebastian, both figure in my novel, ‘The Frozen D ream’.
