Meet Judith Starkston

Author Photo (4)My guest author this month is Judith Starkston, whose book Hand of Fire you will find reviewed elsewhere on this blog (Book reviews:Hand of Fire).  Judith has re-told the story of Briseis, the princess who was captured by Achilles in the Trojan War and who was the  cause of his quarrel with king Agememnon.  Re-told is perhaps the wrong word, since Homer devoted only about a dozen lines of the Iliad to Briseis, leaving Judith with an almost clear canvas to paint her story of the war from a woman’s viewpoint.
